In another study using 2 and color Doppler echocardiography, 25 patients were treated with 5 to 30mg of sibutramine hydrochloride daily for 3 months and no valvular disease was observed.

Certain central diet drugs that cause nerve endings to release serotonin can trigger pulmonary hypertension (PPH), a rare but potentially fatal condition.
